Michael Bublè Personal Shrine

Practically everything’s been said about this Vancouver kid.
A number of times it’s been written how his voice crowned him as the only real heir to King Sinatra, having a greater success than his predecessor Harry Connick Jr. (Michael’s idol and a wonderful and very talented singer as well).
How many times have you heard the phrase “This kid can really swing”?
His bio, taken directly from the tour program, has been shoved onto web pages, newspapers tv shows and so on, saying always the same things to all those who had the good sense to pay attention to this wonderful 29 y.o. Canadian with a very very Italian background.
Well, this is just not the case. This is a very personal tribute, a very personal insight on who I think Michael Bublè is.

On this little corner of the web I want to underline what I have found out about this adorable guy. I want to translate memories into written words, and fix on these pages what it meant for me to meet and get to know Michael. I’ve had other experiences with other so-called music stars, and the lesson I have learned is that it doesn’t matter how strong your memories seem right now, they’ll vanish and perish in time, they’ll lose their color and vitality as time goes by, and a written word is worth a thousand attempts to try to remember.

The reason and the way I got to know about Michael is bound to a very personal fact that I ain’t going to mention here (Michael himself knows, and that’s enough for me)

Let’s just say that I was happy beyond belief when I knew about his tour in Italy .

When I drove to Lucca , on the afternoon of July 11 th, 2004 I was aware that I was about to attend to a very very special concert, as special as Michael’s voice and charm. Never in my wildest dreams, would I have expected to experience what I have in fact experienced since then.

I’ve seen a guy about 5'9" tall, with wavy short light brown hair and a pair of puppy dog hazel green eyes to knock you silly, a round, cute face with very sweet features. The looks of a teen-ager. No sign of beard on his chin and cheeks, a red and pink t-shirt and white pants. Simple and disarming in his normality . A kid to whom display of affection and sincere compliments still make his face blush with embarrassment. A young rising star whose personality - despite the universal success he’s finally had - hasn’t still been painted with the colors of arrogance and superficiality distinctive of those who feel like they deserve to walk 10 feet above other human beings, just because they're famous.

A kid walking around the stage area like he was nobody, stopping along the way to talk and smile and kiss and take pics and give autographs to every single person he meets. A playful soul, one moment making funny faces, grinning, striking a pose in front of the cameras of the lucky few listening to the sound check, and the moment later turning into a totally seductive mature man, grabbing a microphone and singing… even if only to test the sound.

Bublelicious : Michael Bublé

A very talented young entertainer, that grabs the band (formed by equally wonderful and young guys) and it conducts, directs, coordinates it in an exceptionally experienced way, with the skills of someone been on stage all their life. And he’s just 29.

Since that first time there were quite a few chances, during his Italian tour and even abroad, to meet and talk, and spend some time together. The conversations we had, and the little gestures of appreciation that Michael showed to me, made very clear (had there been any need for that at all) that the light in the melancholic eyes of this incredible human being is absolutely honest and truthful. There's nothing fake or fabricated about this guy. To see him and the boys I've travelled quite a bit, both throughout Italy and abroad, and his Grandpa Mitch grew to be a very important person for me.

Maybe I was lucky enough to meet him in a moment when success hadn’t blurred his perspective of life. Maybe he too will turn into an insensitive detached star who won’t pay attention to display of affection by fans, presents, crazy things done in his name, everything spelling the word SUCCESS.

Maybe he’ll become unreachable too, surrounded by mean bodyguards that won’t let you even look at him .. and if this is the case, well, I’ll just cherish the memories I have lived before all this overwhelmed him. But I am pretty sure he’ll remain the cheeky, sweet, shy, determined, living contradiction that I have learned to love. And I'm sure of this : I love him with all my heart.

Either way, I hope he’ll be Michael Bublè for as long as possible. Thank you Michael!
