About 6'2", big strong shoulders and an intense look. It's so true.. the bigger they are, the kinder they reveal themselves to be.

This is the case of Justin K. Ray, trumpet player in Michael's band... the one that plays that absolutely fantastic solo in My funny Valentine, just to remind you. Justin is definitely one of the sweetest, most gentle and patient guys I've ever had the pleasure to meet in my entire life.

Born on July 1st, 1975 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, before deciding to be a trumpet player Justin tells me he's had every possible job under the sun. From pizza delivery to professional boxeur. And taking a look at his body, I can say it shows. Nevertheless, when I ask him why he quit, he opens those deep blue eyes, and sweetly states that he didn't feel like beating the crap out of somebody without a good reason... Since he didn't have very high grades he decided to dedicate himself to something that could give him a chance to improve his situation at school. He studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston, together with Nick Vagenas, and got a degree in Trumpet.

Since then he's worked with some of the finest Jazz musicians in the world, and also composed a few tunes of his own, one of which can found at Bubleband's ex sax player's website, Jason Goldman.

Together with Alan, he's probably one of the most private guys in the band. If you don't consider Michael, Justin is definitely my favorite. He's the one I spent most of the time with, and the one I've talked practically about everything with, including the reason why I became Michael's fan. Justin you rock!
